 High School Essay Contest

Students,

Submit your essay today to compete in the NCBS Student High School Essay Competition!  Winners will be recognized at the Student Luncheon on March 18, 2011.


As part of our community engagement efforts, the contest is only open to high school students in the Cincinnati/Columbus Ohio regions.



Guidelines:


1. Essays can focus on one of these three topics:

  • Police Brutality
  • Racial Profiling
  • Hip Hop and Misogyny

 

2. The essay must be typed in Microsoft Word software. It must contain a minimum of five paragraphs, have a clearly stated thesis statement (last sentence of introductory paragraph), be relatively error free, be fully developed (with specific examples/details) and possess a title. 


3. The essay must be received or postmarked by January 14, 2011.

No faxed or electronic copies accepted!             

 

Winners:

1st Place -         $250.00

2nd Place -        $175.00

3rd Place -        $100.00
